Brujería y Brujulería: Enwitching Aztlan

Updated: Oct 7, 2019

The documentary entitled Brujería y Brujulería: Enwitching Aztlan, which focuses on the emerging wave of new Chicana/o and Latina/o poets in Southern California, will exist in two versions: a full-length, approximately 45-minute version and a shorter, approximately 15-minute version.

The documentary will feature four poets, including: Iris de Anda, Viva Padilla, Luis Rodríguez and Matt Sedillo and will include interviews and poetry readings. All four poets have been invited to participate in a week-long colloquium (in October 2019) at Casa de las Américas in Havana, Cuba, alongside other poets from around the world.

TKU was initially approached to score the documentary in July 2019. We, in turn, approached the members of Nacional Electrónica to collaborate with us on the project. We are pleased to say they agreed!

We have now recorded over 30 tracks--over an hour and a half of new original music--all of which has now been mixed and mastered by Alexis de la O (NE) and provided to the editors of the documentary.
